GoBassoon Reeds - professional bassoon and contrabassoon reeds

                  Bassoon Reeds

All of my reeds are a Rieger 1A shape, 55mm in length.  All reeds come in a tin case that can also double as a reed case.  My reed making has been influenced through the years by each of my teachers.  While none are exactly like any of those players' reeds, they are a mix of what I have enjoyed in each of those styles.

The brand of cane that I use varies depending on who is producing good quality cane.  I use a hardness tester for consistency and all cane is what I also use for my own personal use (not cheap cane that I buy specifically for reeds that I sell).

I believe that the art of reed making is an ever-developing skill.  While I have found a style that works for me, I am constantly learning more and incorporating my knowledge into my reeds.

All reeds are tested on my 9000 series Heckel

                  Contrabassoon Reeds

                  Picture
All of my contrabassoon reeds are a Rieger K1 shape and are 35mm long from tip to collar.  All reeds come in a tin case that can also double as a reed case.  My skills as a contrabassoon reed maker were developed over a decade of making and selling contrabassoon reeds.  My style comes from combining my knowledge of bassoon reeds with the unique acoustics of the contrabassoon.

Like my bassoon reeds, the brand of cane that I use varies depending on the quality of cane available.  I use a hardness tester for consistency and all cane is what I use for my own personal use.

I test all contrabassoon reeds on my Fox contrabassoon
